The Mission

We developed Celebrity Myxer’s marketing strategy around a contrasting paradigm compared to their competition… positive celebrity entertainment. In a sea of “gossip” and “tea” blogs, this approach creates a niche perspective. It also makes celebrities less apprehensive when speaking with the media outlet in sitdown video interviews.

Brand & Identity

Celebrity Myxer Logo

The Celebrity Myxer logo was designed around its core mission to interview celebrities in a sitdown talk show format. After each episode, the host and guest(s) would toast to success. Hence, the “Y” in the logo is shaped like a martini glass.

Palettes & Swatches

The branding style guide introduces modern color palettes with splashes of punchy pinks to accent title headers and anchor links. Typography is also important as we implemented highly readability fonts with a small amount of flair, so they don’t seem like stock fonts. Typography selection is also carried over to titles and lower-thirds in video production.

The Host

Alexus Renée is the co-founder and CEO of Celebrity Myxer. The brand is also intertwined with her personal celebrity. The two are interconnected. Similar to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, we have Alexus Renée’s Celebrity Myxer.

Video Branding

All video elements are unique and cater to amplify the show’s professional visual appeal. Including; intro typography, title tags, name tags, branding lower-thirds, transitions, calls to action, and outro screens. Have a look at the screenshots below.

Intro Typography

In season one, we created a highly stylized yet simple show introduction that was all about the host. Descriptive words flew in to summarize her persona with one-word elements. See examples of the show’s old intro in the Ginuwine & Tank episode.

Name Tags

Name tags are essential for announcing both the host and each guest. See examples of name tags in the Black History Month episode.

Transition Titles

In some instances, we use transition titles to call out a word or phrase from one segment to the next. See examples in the show’s VH1 Black Ink Crew guest episode.

Call To Action

On any medium, especially YouTube, it is essential to direct the viewer. In this screenshot, we instruct them to not only subscribe to the channel but turn on notifications to be alerted of new videos. See a sample in the show’s interview with actress & celebrity life coach AJ Johnson.

The Components

There are four significant components to Celebrity Myxer’s marketing strategy: Video, Editorial, Social Media, and Meet & Greets.

Video

Multi-camera sitdown talk show interviewing celebs about positive topics.

1

Editorial

High quality, SEO-rich content from video productions make for repurposed exclusive content.

2

Social Media

IGTV for longer format video, short video teaser snippets, sponsored posts, promotions, and more.

3

Meet & Greets

Custom activations for fans to meet celebs, get photo ops, even see exclusive live performances.

4

Stickiness

Celebrities make the brand ring! A key marketing tactic Celebrity Myxer implores is to have celebs give a “drop” to the show while holding a distinctive branded microphone. This is a “shoutout” reinforcing the brand with the influencer’s stamp of approval.
