NAMYNOT wants every business owner to be able to use this site, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard only, magnification, or reduced motion settings.

The standard we work to

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the standard most commonly referenced in United States accessibility practice, and it is what we hold new work to.

We are not claiming the entire site passes today. Parts of namynot.com were built over many years and on third party components we do not control. Where we know something falls short, we would rather say so than let you find out the hard way.

What we have done

  • Every page uses real headings in order, so a screen reader can navigate by structure rather than by guessing.
  • Interactive controls are reachable and operable by keyboard, and show a visible focus outline.
  • Text and background colors are chosen against contrast requirements rather than by eye.
  • Images that carry meaning have alternative text. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Motion respects the reduced motion setting in your operating system.
  • Forms have labels attached to their fields, and errors say what went wrong and how to fix it.

Known gaps

Some older pages and some embedded third party tools, including scheduling, chat and video players, do not fully meet the standard. We are working through them. If one of them is blocking you right now, tell us and we will get you the same information another way while we fix it.

Please tell us the page address and what happened. If you are using a screen reader or another assistive technology, naming it helps us reproduce the problem faster.

We treat an accessibility report the way we treat a bug report from a paying customer, because that is what it is.
